Maple smoked butter goes a long way. We break down the steps for you.
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: Yields 1lb.
1/2 cup Maple Chips
1 lb unsalted Butter
1. Soak the chips for up to an hour and set up a cold smoker, smoking gun or a hot smoker can also be used(see below).
Place the butter in a shallow dish and ignite the chips, reduce to a smoulder and smoke the butter for 30 minutes.
Remove and wrap the butter tightly in plastic and refrigerate.
If using a hot smoker, follow the same directions on the lowest heat setting. The butter will melt so after it is smoked pour into a bowl, set over ice and whisk until firm.
