How to use Smoking Chips

  1. Light your charcoal as usual.
  2. Once the lit coals turn gray, add two handfuls of smoking chips directly onto your hot coals. No need to pre-soak these smoking chips, you want them to get hot right away.
  3. Immediately add your food and cook as desired with the lid closed to retain the smoke
  1. Turn on your gas grill as usual. Wrap two handfuls of dry wood chips in aluminum foil or use a smoker tray.

Never made a foil packet for smoking chips before?

Don’t worry, it’s easy as can be.

  1. Tear off 12-16” of aluminum foil.
  2. Place a few handfuls of wood chips into the center and fold over the edges like an envelope, crimping the long ends to enclose your smoking chips.
  3. Pierce the foil a few times with a fork to create holes for the smoke to escape. Voila! You’re ready!
